I’ve been in network marketing since 2014, I grew my first team to have over 55,000 people in 16 countries and I’ve seen a lot of people come and go in this profession. 

Network marketing is a wonderful profession that has changed many people’s lives from every walk of life.

However, it receives criticism from people who experienced failure and decided to blame the profession or company instead of looking at how their action or lack of action lead to their failure.

So before going any farther, it’s very important to know that any business, requires you to work in order for it to work.

Why people fail in network marketing - Lack of Belief

Success in your business is up to you to make it happen!

If you don’t have a strong belief in the profession, your company, or your company’s products and services, it’s highly unlikely that you will be able to build a team, make sales and get the results you are lookin for.

If you are in an environment that is not supportive of your dreams then it’s even more critical that you raise your personal level of belief.

The confidence and belief in yourself must be stronger than the naysayers. You have to have confidence in yourself, even if the people around you do not.

If you find yourself not being confident, start with the belief in your company, products/services and belief that if others in the profession can do it, so can you!

Why people fail in network marketing - Lack of drive and commitment

With any big WINS in life, there will be times when you HAVE to show up even when you don’t want to. You have to do the work even when you don’t feel like it. You have to keep going even when you think what you are doing isn’t worth it. 

Especially in the beginning of any business. Ask yourself, HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

You have to be committed to put in more work in the beginning stages of your business and know that you may not rep the rewards of your labors for a while. It takes time and consistency.

If you want to grow a successful business, you’ll need to be willing to put in the work even when you don’t feel like it. 

If you don’t have that kind of mindset and drive, maybe being self-employed isn’t for you. 

Why people fail in network marketing - no urgency

To learn something new and get something you’ve never had before, you’ll have to get uncomfortable before you can get comfortable.

What do I mean by that?

Let me share a story…

Back in 2012 when I owned a salon and prior to becoming a mom I was in a comfortable place.

I loved what I did, was good at it. I didn’t have much motivation to make any changes even though I did want the lifestyle and more freedom that a lot of other entrepreneurs and my friends had.

Once I had a baby and was spending more time with a picture of her then her, I started to get motivated to make a change. I was getting uncomfortable where I was at, she wasn’t getting any younger and I was missing out on her firsts. 

So I got uncomfortable and got motivated, I wanted to be home more with my baby, friends and family. 

If you don’t have a sense of urgency or that fire burning with in you, it’s harder to get into massive action. And Action is required to create success in your business.

So, do whatever you need to do to create urgency and motivation for yourself in your business.

Why people fail in network marketing - wacked expectations

Sometimes expectations are misinterpreted when people get started in network marketing.

Ive seen it posted, heard it said, “it’s so easy!” OHHHH no it isn’t!! 

If you start someone off with false and unrealistic expectations. You are setting them up to fail. If they don’t achieve the claims and meet the expectations that they have been given prior to starting they will feel like a failure.

On the other hand, if you start someone off with proper expectations, they won’t feel like a failure or like they’ve been defeated.

Starting people off the right way with proper expectations from day one is crucial to someone’s success, especially when they get started.

Let them know it will be hard, there will be times you want to throw in the towel, you are going to be told no, but you will get better and you aren’t doing this alone. 

Why people fail in network marketing -

There’s a lot of network companies out there that have great training and unfortunately, there are some out there that don’t.

If your company doesn’t have the proper training that you need, then seek out network marketing professionals that you can learn from.

Even if you are an experienced business owner with a brick-and-mortar business like I was or you have experience in sales, you will probably learn very quickly that network marketing is different than most traditional businesses out there.

Everything you need to know about being successful in this profession is one google search away. 

Don’t let this stop you from making things happening.

Remember, get comfortable getting uncomfortable.
Make the decision you will do the actions even when you don’t feel like it.
Believe in your company and in yourself. It’s going to be hard, but so is being broke, busy and missing out. Pick your hard!!
